I’ve just made my purchase of the package. It comes with two robots (forex_solomon_eurusd.ex4 and forex_solomon_gbpusd.ex4). No DLL files.
In the manual, it mentioned:
Once a week, (meaning during the first week (including weekend) after robot’s activation, robot will analyze the following:
• All of the activities for the preceding week, (Mon – Fri),
• Quotations of each individual broker, whose chart it works with,
• All of its winning and losing trades for the past week,
• Short-term and long-term trends
• All important support and resistance levels
The robot continually monitors the market, while accumulating the “knowledge” in the process. It systematically learns from its own actions and consistently gets “wiser”, while accumulating all the wealth of information and “knowledge”.
I wondered how this would happen? Will there be a database keep in our PC? I did sent an email to the support team. Let’s see how they reply.
I have setup a demo account and run it on a VPS. Let’s see how the robot performs. Will update here.
and one quick question ! if i allow the bot to learn over a 3-4 week period maybe losing me money..ok I’m up for that but doesn’t this validate my 30 day guarantee mmm
help me here please…..I just need to know if i’m gonna have my pants down… let me see who’s doing it ! I like to be kissed and a bit of fore-play when I’m getting f..ked call me Mr Pesemist if you like….but hey it’s a free world. I hope this works people….watch my comments cos I’m going going in without even dippin my toe…..brrrr…wish me luck….luv ya all xxx
Hay johnboy you are on track…I also contacted this lady form Israel and asked why they don’t use Clickbank which gives a 60 day moneyback…she responded that “she” would also give 60 days..anyways I don’t wee a live account anywhere except fancy graphs which mean nothing… I might get into it by next week but on the 25th day, I would be out if I don’t see positive results.
Since January 28 till now, Forex Solomon have closed 7 trades. 4 EURUSD, and 3 GBPUSD.
Here’s the results:
2011.01.28 08:21 sell 1.00 eurusd 1.3679 -61pips
2011.01.28 10:31 buy 1.00 eurusd 1.3743 -64pips

2011.01.31 11:12 buy 1.00 gbpusd 1.5900 +114pips
Total -97pips
Traders,
What are your thoughts on the EA’s “learning” abilities? Overall thoughts so far?
One more trade close for EURUSD:
2011.01.31 10:02 buy 1.00 eurusd 1.3662 +50pips
Total -47pips
I’m mildly interested in this, but I’m pretty skeptical, especially since they don’t give backtest or live test results (just “screen shots” which are cherry-picked for good trades). So far it sounds like it has some “learning” to do based on the trades posted here.

Thu,
By all means, keep the reports coming. What is your total pips now. Are you in the black ?
Jon
Jon,
As for now, I’m happy with the performance of Forex Solomon as compare to some of the signal services and trading systems that I am curently using. I’ve already run it in my live account, & it has brought me profit in both demo and live. Through these days of testing, I would prefer the gbpusd_solomon EA more than the eurusd EA, because its trades are better and more profitable (less trades open than eurusd EA). No big losses, & the profit can cover its loss easily.
A few comments:
1. Must run it on a VPS. With any deactivation (exept the one in the toolbar “Expert Advisors”) the robot’s work starts again with zero skills.
2. It cannot be trained on a demo and transfer to a live account. It means you have no choice but to let the EA go its learning stage in a live account.
Some Q&A replied by the support team:
Q: Will the robot open a file and keep a database of the analysed data?
A: A file is not saved, after analizing the robot corrects the default data of its algoritnm.
Q: When will the robot analyse the data?
A: The data are analized on the first day after a weekend. So if you activated it for the 1st time, say on Tuesday, it’ll analize the previous week and correct the algorithm.
Q: What’s the largest SL (in pips) of the robot?
A: It’s 90 pips.
Q: What are the Money Management approach of the robot.
A: The full MM will be in the next version. For the current version, it will move its stop loss to breakeven when certain pips is reached.
Q: Is there any difference cause to the data analysis between the robot is activated on Friday (end of the week) compare to Tuesday (beginning of the week)?
A: The more data it saves before a weekend the better, so it’s better to be activated on Tuesday. (Monday is the day the robot analyse its data)
Q: Does the following situation consider as “deactivation”?
(a) Exit and Close of MT4? YES.
(b) Old tick? No.
(c) Temporary lost of internet connection? Yes, in most cases.
(d) Change of EA properties (e.g. change of lot size)? No.
(e) Disable “Allow Live Trading”. Yes.
(f) Disable “Expert Advisors” at the toolbar? No.
(g) Power failure? Yes.
Thu,
Thanks for that excellent update. Maybe a question to support could be, “will you consider adding a file that would keep all of the learned data, should an interruption occur”.
Jon
Jon,
I ask this question twice:
Will the robot open a file and keep a database of the analysed data? If not, how does it work?
This is the reply from the support:
We found the way how to do it. But this feature that we keep undisclosed, sorry…
My personal opinion:
1. There might be some EA issues to be sorted out, since this is the first version.
2. The EA must be a good EA even at zero skill. (I would say the gbpusd_solomon meet the standard)
3. Find a way to work along with the EA. (e.g. analyse its trading behaviour, when & how it opens/close trades…etc.)
4. One interesting reply from the support:
Q: Can I close its trade(s) manually when it has moved into the profit zone? How does this affect its analysis?
A: You can close a trade manually, and if you close it successfully, then it will affect the analysis positively.
Cheers!
Thu,
Very interesting response from support. Looks to be a very solid EA.

Any thing to report…Good or bad please do. I am considering this EA but would like to see some more results posted…
Jon,

2011.02.14 13:23 sell 1.00 gbpusd 1.5981 -45pips
Most of the trades open by the EA are good. The drawback is there is no trailing stop or full MM in this version. For example, the second trade above, it went south to +50pips, but the EA didn’t close the trade, & eventually stop out at entry(breakeven). Some trades got +30pips, but finally stop out at SL.

I bought this ea also and concur with the above. I found if it is ahead on a trade, you can close it at a profit, before it crashes. Good to know it improves it’s performance after doing so.
Happy so far, one of the few, with good support.
So from what I read in these posts, “Solomon” is work in prgress; not yet ready to do heavy lifting and produce consistent resuls..better wait for the next version.

Total pips (28Jan11 to 22Feb11):
EURUSD total: +210pips
GBPUSD total: +64pips
Thanks Thu,
Solomon looks promising.
I take it your pip total is minus any loss. Correct?
Jon
Jon,
The above pips is the actual performance of the Solomon EA that runs in my demo account since 28Jan2011 (on VPS). It started off with a few negative pips in a row, and later it has become more profitable. One thing I noticed, it hasn’t given me any losing week since the start (I did not even stop its operation during any news release, even the recent earthquake, it brought in +49 pips of profit). Well what can I say? Now, I have already running it in my live account.
A few notes might help:
1. After the trades open by the EA, modify the TP:
EURUSD: 40-50 pips
GBPUSD: 60-70 pips
2. The EA will not hold an open trade for more than 24hours. It will close its trades at the next 0:00GMT. Therefore, you can close its trades manually (for your live account) if you noticed a reversal on the market before it hits the SL at breakeven. Most of its trades will have the chance to get into the profit zone, off course there are some bad ones that hit the SL directly. Let me give you an example:
This is the latest closed trade in my demo accout:
3124135 2011.02.23 00:28 buy 1.00 eurusd 1.3691 +3pips
But, I have the above trade opened at 1.3690 (by the EA in my live account) and closed manually at 1.3721, which brought in 31 pips of profit into my live account.
3. This EA can trade with 1 lot for a 5K account, and 0.1 lot for a $500 account. You can test it with a demo.
Good luck and all the best to you!
Jon,
One more thing:
Please set the lot size to the smallest (e.g 0.01) during the training period of the EA in your live account. After one or two weeks, and if you are happy with the results, set it to the desire lot size. (just change the properties, DO NOT reload the EA)
Cheers!
Hi Thu,
Thanks for the updates.
Do you use VPS? If yes then which one? I am using Ultrahosting. The quality of their service is fine. Only problem is that they reboot host servers on Sundays. It has happened quite frequently. I emailed the support and they replied that they apply updates and patches on Sundays. It is going to be a problem for the EA to learn from old trades.
Regards.
Yong,
I am using ForexVPS(www.forexvps.com). It has been a few months with them (since last year), I did not experience any reboot or downtime. Very good support!

Jon,
Agree with you. I’ve sent an email to the support, waiting for their reply.

I never got my email saying there was an update. I have emailed support lets see how long this takes to get the update.
Thanks Thu for the update.
Will be interesting to see what next week brings, after it has adjusted it’s self, which it still floors me on how a piece of soft ware can do that with out human intervention.Simply mind boggling.
Casey,
The new version comes with three files:
forex_solomon_eurusd_v2.ex4
forex_solomon_gbpusd_v2.ex4
forex_solomon_v2_users_guide.pdf
I purchased Forex Solomon and began trading on a demo account beginning Fec 2011. Results were not that great and my account from $5000 was down to about $4800.
I recieved an updated version by end Feb and began the new updated version from March 2011. My account now stands at $4912.
What I dont like about the robot is that if one’s internet transmission is interupted of if the computer freezes, etc and has to be rebooted, all open positions will be closed when the robot is activated again. And you start all over again.
I have not tried the robot using a VPS but I gather that that would be a solution. I am still testing on a demo account. But yet to see convincing results.
Thu,
Can you give us an updated performance report?. Would be much appreciated.
Jon

Is that a funded account?
Jon,
My Solomon is loaded onto demo & live accounts, both have the same trades (on VPS).
Thu,
What VPS service do you use, and is it dependable, in other words, has it been stable, ( does not disconnect or they do not do maintenance on a regular basis ) and the cost?
Thanks.
Jon,
ForexVPS (www.forexvps.com). I’m happy with their service. They have three packages, depends on your needs. You can do a live chat with them.

Looking good Thu
Are you planning on purchasing Rita’s new Bot?
This EA is up 300 pips for the month on my live account. I’m debating on buying her new robot. I also hope to release my trend trading strategy soon. It has made anywhere from 300 to 700 pips a week so far.
Casey Dean,
Where and how will you release your trend trading strategy? Web site?
Jon
Thu,
Any new weekly updates on Solomon ?
Any up dates …??? Thu
Hi Jon,
I’m sorry, I will not continue to update the Solomon results here. As for the performance of the Solomon, I’m still running it in my live account. It produces positive pips every week. I’m happy with the EA. The more you run it, the more you will know how the EA manage its trades; & because of that you can minimise its losses & close the positive trades with better results. There was once I remove the EA for my MT4 update, after I re-attach it to the chart again, it started with a similar cycle as the results shown above. In short, if you know how the EA work, it can bring positive pips to your trading results. Well, I would say this is a good EA. The current version remains Version 2.
All the best to your trading!
Regards,
Thu
